# WHAT TO TRY — A-10 Portal Door ("Doorway Brass")

Open `index.html` in a browser (Chrome/Edge/Firefox — any browser with camera + WebRTC support). Works fully offline; there is nothing to sign into.

1. **Read the gold honesty panel first:** both panels are this device's camera; the far one arrives through a real WebRTC connection looped back on this device; the two-room version is a recipe, not a server. That panel is part of the product.
2. **Open the doorway:** click **OPEN THE DOORWAY** and allow camera + microphone. The red **ON-AIR** strip appears. The left panel is your direct preview; the right panel is the *same camera after travelling through two WebRTC peer connections* — wave and watch both. The pipe line under the buttons shows both peers' live connection states.
3. **Check the mute guard:** the far end starts **MUTED**, and the page says why (one device = mic and speakers in the same room = feedback howl). With headphones plugged in you may try **Unmute far end (headphones only)** — speak and hear yourself return through the pipe, with a slight delay: that delay is the jitter buffer, and it is real. Mute again before unplugging the headphones.
4. **Close it:** click **CLOSE THE DOORWAY** — both panels go dark, the ON-AIR strip disappears, and the pipe line reports both peers closed and all tracks stopped. One tap, fully closed.
5. **Deny the permission** (reload, click open, block the camera): the doorway stays closed and the panel prints the denial as its state — an honest closed door, not an error page.
6. **Read the Setup Recipe panel** for the genuine two-room version: a spare tablet or phone in the far door frame, carried by an ordinary video-call app or a later self-hosted page — plus the framing tips and the always-on etiquette (mute state by default, a physical privacy shutter, anyone can close it).
