# WHAT TO TRY — A-13 · KITT Voice (communicator) · "Console Ember"

**Open:** `index.html` in this folder, in any browser. No install, no account, works offline.
**Read the face first:** it says **PROTOTYPE** and **"Demonstration state. Not connected to
any real car."** — that is true. Everything below runs on invented sample data.

1. **Read the sample state panel.** An invented "Sample Sedan": fuel, estimated range,
battery, mileage, tire pressures, last trip — every figure stamped **SAMPLE**.
Notice the range is labeled an estimate, not a fact.
2. **Chat with it (typed).** Use the chips or type your own:
   - `how's my fuel?` — the answer shows its arithmetic (9 gal × 30 mpg = 270 mi, sample).
   - `any warnings?` — exactly one computed warning: the rear-right sample tire at 29 psi.
   - `last trip?` — 24 miles, 38 minutes, and a computed 30 mpg for the trip.
   - Then try something it can't do — `what's the traffic like?` — and check that it
honestly says it can't answer that from the sample state, instead of inventing one.
3. **Try the voice.** Press **Push to talk** and ask a question out loud.
   - If your browser offers speech recognition, your spoken question is answered.
   - If it doesn't, the button is disabled and the page prints **UNAVAILABLE** with the
reason — that printing *is* the honest behaviour, not a bug.
   - Answers are spoken back in **your device's built-in speech voice** — the page prints
the line about it: it is nobody's voice and imitates no one.
   - Press **Voice replies: OFF (muted)** and ask again — answers print, nothing speaks.
4. **Read the wiring packet** (`WIRING-PACKET-A13.md`, ~4 minutes) — the honest sensor
half: the Valet overnight fixture first, then log import from existing MHD/Dragy
exports, then live OBD as a later separately-ruled step. Note the GAP it prints:
no filed source proves a tire-pressure read, so that field stays SAMPLE.

**Your calls after trying:**
- Does the question set (fuel / range / battery / tires / warnings / mileage / last trip)
match what you'd actually ask a car?
- Step 1 of the packet needs your word plus a charged spare handset in the car for one
night — same fixture the Valet dossier (item 8) already proposed; one fixture serves both.
