# WHAT TO TRY — A15 Concealment Camera ("Shelf Eye Slate")

Open `index.html` in a browser — ideally on the spare phone you would actually leave on the shelf. Works offline; nothing leaves the tab.

1. **Read the setup panel first.** It carries the whole law of the tool before any camera exists: your own property, lawful purposes, know your state's recording law; the no-audio fence ("This eye does not record sound…"); and the plain statement of what cover mode is and is not — it makes the phone look idle on your own shelf, nothing more.
2. **Notice that nothing is watching.** The status line says *not armed*, the badge says NOT ARMED, and the motion lines print UNAVAILABLE. Reload the page as often as you like — the camera never starts on its own.
3. **Press ARM CAMERA and allow the camera.** The viewfinder goes live, the badge flips to ARMED — WATCHING (NO SOUND), and the motion score starts updating from the real frames. Hold the scene still: the score sits near 0 and nothing is captured. Wave a hand or walk through the frame: the score jumps past the threshold and a still lands in the gallery, stamped with its time and triggering score (captures are capped at one per 2.5 seconds so a busy scene doesn't flood the page).
4. **Play with the threshold slider.** Lower it toward 2 and small movements — even lighting shifts — start triggering; raise it toward 60 and only big changes capture. The readout beside the score prints TRIGGERED when a frame crosses the line you set.
5. **Enter COVER MODE.** The whole screen becomes a plain clock-and-notes face — clock ticking, every element labeled SAMPLE, the notes visibly sample text. The camera is still watching underneath: have someone move in front of the phone, then tap the discreet **· viewfinder** control in the bottom-right corner to return — the new captures are waiting in the gallery.
6. **Use the gallery like it's yours — because it only exists here.** Download a still you want to keep. Then press **CLEAR — wipe all stills** and watch the count return to 0. Reload the page: the gallery is empty again. Nothing was saved, stored, or sent anywhere in between.
7. **Press Disarm.** The camera tracks stop, the badge returns to NOT ARMED, and the motion lines go back to UNAVAILABLE. Deny the camera permission on a fresh load and ARM prints UNAVAILABLE with the reason — and watches nothing.
