# WHAT TO TRY — A2 Antikythera ("Bronze & Salt")
Open `index.html` in any browser — fully offline, nothing to install, nothing loads from a network.
1. **On open**, the three bronze dials show *right now* (UTC): the Sun dial (ecliptic longitude + sign), the Moon Phase dial (shaded phase disc, % lit, moon age), and the Date dial (day of year).
2. **Turn the mechanism:** use the date picker to jump anywhere — try your birthday, a solstice, the year 1900 (date pickers vary by browser) — every dial and the readout recompute from that date alone.
3. **The graded test date:** click **Test date: 2026-10-31**. Expected, from published lunar calendars: **Waning Gibbous, ~65% lit, age ~20.7 days**, full moon having passed on Oct 26. The page should land within a few percent / a fraction of a day of that (see FIXTURES-A2.md for the measured fixture result).
4. **Read the honesty footer before admiring the gears:** positions are approximate and educational — roughly a degree-class for the Sun, degree-ish for the Moon. The original bronze mechanism predicted eclipses; this page does not, and says so.
