# WHAT TO TRY — A-08 Magic Mirror ("Mirror Glass Silver")
**Open it:** double-click `index.html` in this folder (`stream-a/a8-magic-mirror/index.html`) in any browser. No install, no server, no internet needed. It is one single file. For the full effect, press F11 (full screen) — that's how it would sit behind the mirror acrylic.
**⚠ Only the clock and date are real (they come from your device). Weather, Today, and House Status are SAMPLE placeholders — stamped SAMPLE on the page itself. Nothing is wired yet, on purpose: page first, wiring second (the order is in BUILD-RECORD-A8.md).**
## Try these (about 2 minutes)
1. **Watch the clock for a few seconds.** It ticks live and the date line underneath is today's real date, in this device's own words. This is the one part of the mirror that is already finished.
2. **Read the greeting line, then wait ~10 seconds.** It rotates through a small built-in list of greetings/compliments. It's decoration, labeled as decoration — judge whether the tone is right for a hallway/bathroom glance.
3. **Do nothing for 30 seconds.** The whole page dims down (that's the mirror resting — behind acrylic, a dim page nearly disappears into the reflection). Then **tap, click, or press any key** — it brightens back instantly. That's the wake behavior a real mirror needs.
4. **Check the three tiles.** Weather, Today, House Status — each one carries a gold SAMPLE stamp. House Status goes further: every line (gateway · detector · garden) says **"not wired yet."** If you find any number or status that reads as if it were live, that's a defect — tell Muse where.
5. **Picture it behind glass.** Hold the screen at arm's length in a dim room. The design bet is: black = invisible in a mirror, sparse bright type = readable at a glance, nothing on the page needs touching to be useful.
## Questions it would help to answer after looking
- Is the clock big enough / the type calm enough for a real mirror spot — and where would that spot be (which spare monitor, which room)?
- Is the greeting line charming or noise? Keep, soften, or cut?
- When wiring starts, which tile should go live first — Weather (keyless, easiest) or House Status (most "magic mirror")?
